Nonjudicial punishment (NJP) under Article 15, Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ), provides commanders with an essential and prompt means of maintaining good order and discipline and also promotes positive behavior changes in service members without the stigma of a court-martial conviction. In April, there were six Article 15s offered at Eglin Air Force Base.

· A senior airman assigned to 96th Security Forces Squadron received a reduction to airman basic, forfeiture of $699 pay and a reprimand for wrongful use of marijuana. 

· An airman 1st class assigned to 96th Communications Squadron received a suspended reduction to the grade of Airman, 45 days restriction to the base, 45 days extra duty, and a reprimand for dereliction of duty. 

· A senior airman assigned to 96th SFS received reduction to airman, 30 days extra duty and a reprimand for wrongful use of a controlled substance. 

· An airman assigned to 96th Services Squadron received a reduction to airman basic, 14 days restriction to the base, 14 days extra duty, and a reprimand for dereliction of duty. 

· An airman 1st class assigned to 96th Logistics Readiness Squadron received a suspended reduction to airman and a reprimand for wrongfully and falsely altering a military identification card. 

· An airman 1st class assigned to 1st Special Operations Maintenance Squadron received a reduction to airman basic, with reduction below Airman suspended, suspended forfeiture of $699 pay, and a reprimand for larceny.
