Event caters to spouses on Military Spouse Appreciation Day Published April 28, 2009 By Eglin Airman and Family Readiness Center Public Affairs EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- Military spouses face ever-increasing challenges with deployments and frequent moves. In recognition of National Military Spouse Appreciation Day May 8, Eglin Airman and Family Readiness Center will host a fair designed to address the needs of the military spouse. The event will be held at the AFRC 11 a.m. to noon. It is a special day of learning and fun for all military spouses with an opportunity to mingle with other spouses and visit information tables. Spouses may sign up for a number of seminars there or visit the various booths offering information on topics such as becoming a Family Child Care Provider or applying for the Career Advancement Account Program. Seminars offered at AFRC are: Taking Care of Yourself; Health and Nutrition,10 to 10:30 a.m. Tips for Managing Your Home and Time, 10:30 to 11 a.m. Your Education and Career: Scholarships, Career Training, Federal Employment, noon to 1 p.m. The Secrets to Wealth, 1 to 1:45 p.m. To register for the event or any of the seminars, call 882-9060/9061.
