Airmen receive Articles 15 under UCMJ in March Published April 6, 2009 Air Armament Center Legal Office EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- Ten Eglin members receive nonjudicial punishment under Article 15 in March: · A Senior Airman assigned to 33 AMXS received a suspended reduction to Airman First Class, 30 days extra duty and a reprimand for failing to go to a place of duty. · A Senior Airman assigned to 96 IPTS received a reduction to Airman First Class and a reprimand for dereliction of duty and obtaining services under false pretenses. · A Senior Airman assigned to 33 AMXS received a reduction Airman Basic and a reprimand for wrongful use of marijuana. · A Senior Airman assigned to 33 MXS received a reduction to Airman First Class, suspended forfeiture of $959.00 pay for 1 month and a reprimand for failing to obey a lawful order. · An Airman assigned to 96 CES received a reduction to Airman Basic, 15 days restriction to Eglin Air Force Base and a reprimand for wrongful use and possession of marijuana. · A Technical Sergeant assigned to 46 AMXS received a suspended reduction to Staff Sergeant, 14 days extra duty, and a reprimand for dereliction of duty. · A Technical Sergeant assigned to 46 AMXS received a suspended reduction to Staff Sergeant, 14 days extra duty, and a reprimand for dereliction of duty. · A Senior Airman assigned to 33 MXS received a reduction to Airman First Class, 14 days extra duty, suspended forfeitures of $929.00 pay for one month, and a reprimand for failure to go. · An Airman First class assigned to 96 SFS received a reduction to Airman Basic and a reprimand for dereliction of duty. · A Senior Airman assigned to 96 AMDS received a reduction to Airman Basic and a reprimand for disorderly conduct, discredit to service. The purpose of Article 15, Uniform Code of Military Justice, is to provide commanders with a prompt and effective means of maintaining good order and discipline. An Article 15 can be the final disciplinary action triggering initiation of an administrative discharge.
