EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- Col. Todd Harmer, 33rd Fighter Wing commander, places the final decal, "Nomads," on the right vertical stabilizer of the F-15 Eagle static display on Eglin Blvd., March 30. Nine Airmen from the 33rd Maintenance Squadron corrosion section took on the project to fully restore the aircraft. They coated it with more than 34 gallons of primer and paint; replaced the decals and stenciled the lettering. EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- The F-15 Eagle shown here, displayed at the corner of Nomad Way and Eglin Blvd., was restored by the 33rd Maintenance Squadron corrosion section during the last two weeks of March. Ten Airmen spent more than 72 hours washing, painting and restenciling the lettering on this aircraft that serves as a gateway to the 33rd Fighter Wing, located on Nomad Way. Eagle's face lift

EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- Senior Airman Curtis Deleon, 33rd Maintenance Squadron corrosion section, removes masking tape after stenciling the left vertical stabilizer of an F-15 Eagle static display on Eglin Blvd. March 24. He and nine other Airmen began the restoration process by scraping, sanding and washing the outer surface of the aircraft.
