Imagine waking up on Christmas morning to discover Santa forgot to visit your house. The Walton County Sheriff's Office and the 20th Space Control Squadron made it a point to prevent this exact scenario from happening to many local children with their annual "Santa Patrol" project.

"The people Walton County provide a lot for us here at Site C-6," said Senior Airman Elena Sawyer, 20th SPCS space console operator. "The least we can do is donate a few hours of our time to brighten someone's day and spread the Christmas spirit to those who may not have that opportunity."

Over the past 20 years, the "Santa Patrol" project has brought Christmas to more than 10,000 children. Last year alone, the Patrol provided donated gifts to 478 local Walton County kids.

"This project was a joy for everyone involved," said Susan Brannon, Site C-6. "I'm sure the holidays will be that much brighter knowing all those smiling faces will be opening their presents on Christmas morning!"
