Team Eglin Celebrates Fourth Annual Wingman Day - Under Banner of Unity

Foster Stadium will be filled with a sense of excitement Nov. 6 as members from across Team Eglin gather to kick-off the base's annual Wingman Day.

Wingman Day, a program established by the Air Force in 2004 to promote safety, has evolved to include physical, emotional, spiritual and social well being--the four dimensions of human wellness.

The kick-off event begins at 7:30 a.m. with opening comments by Team Eglin commanders and testimonials by Team Eglin members. Following the kick-off, 50 teams from across Eglin will compete in various challenge games that promote team building and synergy. After breaking for lunch, team members will return back to their respective units to participate in unit-specific events that continue to reinforce team building.

According to Col. Bruce McClintock, 96th Air Base Wing  Commander, "this is an opportunity to bring Airman from across the base together and take the concept of Team Eglin to the next level."

Eglin project officer Deborah Allen stressed the importance of taking a day to come together as a team. "This day allows us to develop a renewed sense of togetherness and strengthen morale. "

The theme for this year's event is "Together We ... stand strong ... save lives ... rise above ... stay connected ... unlock potential."

"Wingman Day is more than simply standing down daily operations," added Colonel McClintock. "It's about coming and growing together as a team so we can take better care of our Airmen."
