For 46th Test Wing members and their families, summer officially ended with a unit fish fry and beach party Oct. 17.

The Summer Bash was held at The Crab Trap and The Swamp, on Okaloosa Island's famous Boardwalk, where more than 1,300 people gathered for the wing event.

Col. Gary L. Plumb, 46th Test Wing commander, said unit members deserved the needed break. "Our unit has been performing at a high level of work supporting our joint team fighting the war on terrorism. This event allowed us to take a short break from our daily mission."

Col. Plumb deemed the event a success. "This is one of the best team building events we've had. Support provided by the community, coupled with our own volunteers, made this event possible," he said.

The Bomb Katz, a band whose members hail from the 413th Flight Test Squadron at Hurlburt Field, played a variety of music throughout the day. The 413th FTS is a squadron under the 46th Operations Group here.
