The Army and Air Force Exchange Services recognized outstanding academic achiever Aysley Casburn, for winning the You Made the Grade contest June 30, with a $2000 dollar savings bond at the Base Exchange here.

AAFES and vendor partners award bonds for $5,000, $3,000, and $2,000 to three students in quarterly drawings. Students eligible to enter must provide a valid military identification card and a report card with an overall B average or better in grades six through 12 at stateside and overseas public and private schools.

Miss Casburn, a recent graduate from Okaloosa Walton College Collegiate High School, is heading to Florida State University and plans to major in Actuarial Science in the fall. She was accompanied by her parents, who were overwhelmed with the amount of potential their daughter possesses.

"Aysley has always gone above and beyond our expectations...we can't begin to comprehend the potential she has," says Randy and Cara Casburn.

Miss Casburn was greeted by Col. Ric LoCastro, 96th Air Base Wing vice commander, as well as the regional and store managers of the AAFES BX, who congratulated her for all her academic efforts.

"I've always found that working hard now, makes it much easier to achieve the goals you've set down the road," said Miss Casburn.

"We are very proud of her accomplishments," said Mister Casburn. "But what is really amazing is this is just the beginning."
