Maj. Gen. David  Eidsaune, Program Executive Officer for Weapons and Air Armament Center Commander, recently selected the 2008 James E. Plew Outstanding Community Ambassadors. Those selected were Gen. (retired) William Kirk, Mayor Michael Anderson, Mr. Thomas Rice and Mrs. Melinda Wickham.

The center instituted the program in 2005 to recognize outstanding community leaders who have demonstrated long-term support for Team Eglin and its military communities.

"The Ambassador program is just one way to recognize the important role community leaders play in supporting the military," the general said. "Community leaders are a visible presence at military events and go above and beyond to demonstrate their commitment to the mission and the men and women of Eglin AFB, Hurlburt Field and Duke Field."
