96th Air Base Wing announces annual winners Published March 10, 2008 By Lois Walsh 96 ABW Public Affairs EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- The 96th Air Base Wing recognized its best Feb. 29, at its annual awards ceremony. The wing highlighted nominees who were key contributors to the wing's success in 2007, and paid tribute to the nominees for their hard work, dedicated service and exceptional level of professionalism. Col. Eric Pohland, wing commander, welcomed the nominees at a medallion ceremony which was "just the start to a fantastic evening. "We really don't gather often enough to tell you what you bring to Team Eglin," the colonel said. "I don't think you know how much it is appreciated across the base and across this nation." The 96th Medical Operations Squadron was recognized as the squadron of the year. The winners in the individual categories are: Airman: Senior Airman Brandon Smith, 96 Civil Engineer Group NCO: Tech. Sgt. Patricia Krisko, 96 Medical Group SNCO: Master Sgt. Timothy Gray, 96th Mission Support Group CGO: Capt. Robert Sonnenberg, 96 MSG First Sergeant: Master Sgt.
