Eglin celebrates Florida Archaeology Month

In celebration of Florida Archaeology Month and in concert with the Florida Public Archaeology Network, Eglin Cultural Resources personnel will set up hands-on, informative displays highlighting Eglin's rich cultural history at the following locales/events during the month of March:

March 8, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Northwest Florida Heritage Museum-Valparaiso

March 15, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Heritage Day and Open House-City of Fort Walton Beach Heritage Park and Cultural Center

March 22, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Gulf Coast Community College-Panama City

Additionally, the Eglin Cultural Resources Branch's Interpretive Center, located in Bldg. 238, will be open for viewing for DoD-affliated people during the following dates and times:

March 11, 1 to 3 p.m.

March 25, 9 to 11 a.m.

The Interpretive Center showcases some of the best actual or replica artifacts that have been recovered from Eglin reservation and its intended use is for academic and research purposes. For more information, please contact Mr. Jerron Barnett at 883-3034.
