EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- Senior Airman Karen Sweet, 96th Medical Support Squadron biomedical equipment technician, test the functionality of a electrosurgical analyzer used in operating rooms to cauterize inscissions. The staff sergeant select was recently awarded as the U.S. Air Force Outstanding Biomedical Equipment Repair Airman of the Year for her skill and professionalism. From uncovering a fault in fetal monitor time synchronization to the mass recall of 127 defibrillators, Airman Sweet tackeled each task with efficiency.
