ID card/DEERS process changes Published March 3, 2008 By 96th Mission Support Squadron Military Personnel Flight EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- Eglin's Military Personnel Flight will be unable to issue new identification cards or process DEERS updates March 24-25 due to system software upgrades. Customers needing assistance during this timeframe should visit the MPF at Hurlburt Field. The upgrade involves software changes to local workstations and the movement of data servers to a centralized location. The upgrade will make the system more secure and help prevent fraud within the Department of Defense. Once the upgrade is complete, personnel will be required to present two forms of identification before a new ID card can be issued. Acceptable forms of ID include: an expired military ID card, driver's license, social security card, passport, birth certificate or permanent resident card. Family members under the age of 18 without a valid form of identification can present a school record, report card, hospital record or nursery school record.
