AFRL Munitions Directorate welcomes new colonel

Col. Daniel Morin, Air Force Research Laboratory Munitions Directorate director, relinquished command to Col. Kirk Kloeppel in a change of command ceremony at the Air Force Armament Museum May 4.

The Munitions Directorate performs research on precision guidance, missile guidance and control, computational mechanics, smart sub-munitions, warheads, and explosives. 

Colonel Kloeppel comes to the AFRL Munitions Directorate from an assignment as the deputy director of the AFRL Directed Energy Directorate at Kirtland Air Force Base, N.M. In his new position he will direct more than 500 military, civilian and contractor personnel who develop, integrate and transition the science and technology for air-launched munitions.
