A3 Course: Strategic Bombing Campaign during World War II

As part of this year's 60th anniversary celebration of the United States Air Force, the Air Armament Center History Office will be presenting its second course on Air Force history, "The Strategic Bombing Campaign during World War II."

It is a four-hour course, 8 a.m. to noon, or 12:30 to 4:30 p.m., Wed. given in the theater at the Air Armament Museum just outside the west gate.

The course includes a presentation on the origins and development of strategic bombing from its early beginnings in World War I, the development of strategic bombing doctrine in the 1930s, its implementation during World War II in Europe and its impact on the Allied victory in Europe.

As part of the course, the history office will show the well-known movie "12 O'clock High," which was partially filmed at present-day Duke Field in 1949.
