Staying active is essential for maintaining overall health and well-being. The Civilian Health Promotion Services announces the "Your Health in Motion" campaign, a quarterly initiative designed to inspire individuals to adopt physical activity and raise awareness of its benefits.
The “Your Health in Motion” campaign emphasizes simple ways to incorporate movement into daily life, such as taking the stairs, walking during breaks, or including stretch breaks. These small changes can lead to significant health benefits over time.
This quarter, the program provides health screenings with InBody metrics, live virtual stretching sessions, and educational webinars. The "Get Up and Get Moving" webinar gives a brief overview of the benefits of reducing sedentary time. In contrast "Exercise Basics and Progression" provides a deeper dive into safe and effective ways to improve fitness.
A highlight of the campaign is the Minutes Mania Challenge, a four-week, team-based challenge available to participants on the USAF Wellness portal. Participants earn points for physical activities, and teams compete in a virtual conference style game bracket. Activities of all intensity levels are included, and points are updated hourly on the portal, creating an engaging and motivational environment.
“The CHPS Minute Mania Challenge helps participants form healthy habits that outlast the challenge itself,” said Kim Harris, Eglin’s CHPS Health Promotion Coordinator.
The campaign offers something for everyone, whether just starting a personal fitness journey or looking for ways to stay motivated. CHPS invites DAF civilian employees to participate in events, health screenings, and the Minutes Mania Challenge to connect with others and take steps toward a healthier, more active lifestyle.
