Advancement presentations highlight DOD test council visit

EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla -- Summer interns made presentations on topics covering weapons system testing, drone detection and more during the Defense Department’s Test Resource Management Council visit Aug. 4.

The internships are part of the TRMC’s summer program.  The interns spent the summer working alongside Eglin’s military and civilian experts on critical projects that directly impact national security.  The presentations provided council members with a first-hand look at how emerging talent helps drive innovation and strengthens military readiness.

“The speed at which these projects are conducted and completed matches the speed at which we have to develop and test new technologies for the Department of Defense,” said Lee Schronenburg, TRMC contractor support. “That alignment is essential to ensuring our warfighters have the tools they need, when they need them.”

The TRMC oversees resources and strategic planning for DOD’s test and evaluation enterprise.  Its internship program cultivates the next generation of scientists and engineers while strengthening partnerships between academia and the defense community.
