EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- The Eglin Golf Course’s is now open Thursday to Sunday due to a decrease in use and staffing limitations.
The 96th Force Support Squadron plans to maintain a level of play commensurate to staffing levels until the end of the peak season, with a projected closing date in December.
"We are committed to providing recreational opportunities for our service members, their families, Defense Department civilians and retirees. However, declining use and staffing constraints necessitate this adjustment," said Nyron Alexander, 96th FSS community services flight chief.
The 96th TW announced Aug. 22 it sought a private or public partner to lease and enhance the golf course and surrounding property through the Enhanced Use Lease Program at SAM.gov Request for Lease Proposal, AFCEC-25-R-0001.
