West Gate Express renovation impacts customers, traffic flow

EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. – The West Gate Express will begin a major renovation beginning Sept. 22.

The more than $2 million, three-phase renovation will relocate the fuel canopy, add another fuel station and increase parking among other improvements.

Estimated completion of the first phase is Oct. 30.  During this phase, customer impacts will be:

  • Express exit onto Eglin Blvd will close so it can be relocated.
  • All traffic must exit via the 33rd Fighter Wing side via Nomad Way.
  • The Subway drive-thru will close during this time.
  • Parking in front of Express is reduced by half.
  • The Express customer entrance/exit will be on side of the building.

Updated impacts will be published for each new phase as they become available.
