The Week, celebrated annually throughout the U.S., highlights the service and cost of law enforcement and pays tribute to those who have lost their lives in the line of duty. "National Police Week is a time for law enforcement officers, regardless of jurisdictional ties, to join together and recognize the day-to-day sacrifices that are made to protect and serve," said Chief Master Sgt. Samel Brown. 96th Security Force Squadron. "The law enforcement profession comes with inherent risk and I'm grateful for the Presidential Proclamation that sets aside time to recognize the importance of the nation's peace officers."
