April status of discipline

The following disciplinary actions occurred in the month of April.

A technical sergeant from the 96th Force Support Squadron received a letter of reprimand, reduction in rank to staff sergeant and a (six-month suspended) 30 days extra duty for wrongful use of a controlled substance.

A senior airman with the 96th Security Forces Squadron received a letter of reprimand, a six-month suspended reduction in rank to airman 1st class and 15 days extra duty for two offenses bringing discredit to the armed forces.

A staff sergeant with the 96th SFS received a letter of reprimand, a six-month suspension of the following: reduction in rank to senior airman and a two-month forfeiture of $1,164 per month for violation of a lawful general order.

A senior airman with the 53rd Wing received a letter of reprimand, a six-month suspended reduction in rank to airman 1st class and a forfeiture of $858 for disobeying and assaulting an NCO.

A staff sergeant with the 96th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron received a letter of reprimand, and a six-month suspended reduction in rank to senior airman for two offenses deemed prejudicial to good order and discipline.

A staff sergeant with the 96th Ground Combat Training Squadron received a letter of reprimand, a six-month suspended reduction in rank to senior airman and a two-month forfeiture of $850 per month for misuse of a government travel card.

An airman 1st class with the 96th Logistics Readiness Squadron, received a letter of reprimand and a three-month suspension of the following: reduction in rank to airman, two-month forfeiture of $765 per month, 30 days base restriction and extra duty, for making a false official statement and wrongful use of a controlled substance.

Three civilians received disciplinary actions for separate offenses of inappropriate conduct, discourteous conduct and failing to follow proper procedures.

Each case, and the resulting punishment, was decided on its individual merit using a variety of factors including severity of the offense and disciplinary history of the individual, as well as other relevant factors.
