March status of discipline Published April 28, 2014 96th Test Wing judge advocate general EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- An airman from the 96th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron received a letter of reprimand and 60-day restriction to base for provoking speech and simple assault. An airman 1st class with the 96th AMXS received a letter of reprimand, a six-month suspended reduction in rank to airman and a 14-day restriction to base for provoking speech, assault and battery. An airman 1st class from the 96th Force Support Squadron received a letter of reprimand and a reduction in rank to airman for making a false official statement and wrongful use of marijuana. A senior airman from the 96th Logistics Readiness Squadron received a letter of reprimand, 30-day restriction to base, reduction in rank to airman 1st class and a six-month suspended forfeiture of $1017 per month for two months for assault and battery, being drunk and disorderly and a discredit to the service. A staff sergeant from the 96th Aerospace Medicine Squadron received letter of reprimand, a six-month suspended reduction to senior airman and forfeiture of $1,213 for misuse of a government travel card. An airman from the 96th Maintenance Squadron received a letter of reprimand and forfeiture of $700 for being absent without leave. An airman from the 96th MXS received a forfeiture of $700 for wrongful use of marijuana and wrongful use of a controlled substance. A senior airman from the 33rd Operations Support Squadron received a letter of reprimand, 30-day restriction to base and forfeiture of $1164 for being AWOL. A senior airman from the 33rd OSS received a letter of reprimand, six-month suspended reduction to airman 1st class and a six-month suspended forfeiture of $1017 for being AWOL. Three civilians received disciplinary actions for separate offenses of not carrying out assigned tasks and sleeping on duty, violation of computer security regulations and conduct unbecoming a federal employee. Each case, and the resulting punishment, was decided on its individual merit using a variety of factors including severity of the offense and disciplinary history of the individual, as well as other relevant factors.
