January status of discipline Published Feb. 19, 2014 96th Test Wing legal office EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- The following disciplinary actions occurred in the month of January. An airman 1st class from the 96th Security Forces Squadron received a reduction in rank to airman and a letter of reprimand for failure to go, damage to nonmilitary property, drunk driving and being incapacitated for duty. An airman from the 96th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron received 60-day base restriction, reduction in rank to airman basic and a letter of reprimand for failure to obey a lawful order, willful dereliction of duty and a false official statement. A senior airman from the 96th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron received 60-day base restriction, a suspended reduction in rank to airman 1st class and a letter of reprimand for being absent without leave, drunkenness and being incapacitated for duty. A senior airman from the 96th Civil Engineer Squadron received 45 days extra duty, a suspended reduction in rank and letter of reprimand for willful dereliction of duty and a false official statement. A senior airman from the 96th Security Forces Squadron received 10 days extra duty, reduction in rank to airman 1st class and a six-month suspended $2014 forfeiture of pay for failure to go twice. Three civilians received disciplinary actions for separate offenses of unprofessional behavior on duty, failure to follow established security procedures and security clearance suitability issues. Each case, and the resulting punishment, was decided on its individual merit using a variety of factors including severity of the offense and disciplinary history of the individual, as well as other relevant factors.
