Show CFC 'some love'

One of two sanctioned charitable drives in the Air Force, the CFC allows Team Eglin to channel the willingness of its people to support eligible non-profit organizations that provide health and human service benefits throughout the world. An excellent team of base project officers, unit project officers, coordinators and key workers are available to support you throughout the campaign that makes the whole process possible. This year's goal is to raise $750,000.

EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- The installation’s Combined Federal Campaign season kicked off here off Nov. 7.

The annual federal workplace campaign for giving runs through Dec. 5. To help ‘Show Some Love’ to the thousands of local, national and international charities who need support, the CFC added new ways to contribute.

“The CFC is a powerful movement that harnesses the collective power of the federal workforce to make a difference for charities across the nation,” said Maj. Nicholas Castro, Air Force Life Cycle Management Center and CFC project officer.

This year donations can be made directly to the new regional campaign website at setristatecfc.org. To further increase support impact, donors can also pledge volunteer hours at the site and by a paper pledge, according to Castro.

For the first time, government retirees can now contribute by a paper allotment by logging on to the regional website or the centralized campaign site at opm.gov/ShowSomeLoveCFC.

Local charities are scheduled to host a campaign awareness event here at the base Exchange food court Nov. 15. A volunteer day with three participating charities is scheduled to offer volunteer opportunities at a later date.

“Thank you for all you do as a part of Team Eglin and for your consideration toward the many charities impacting our communities across the nation.” said Brig. Gen. Evan C. Dertien, 96th Test Wing commander.

To donate or to volunteer please see your unit CFC representative for information, charity booklets and donation forms.
