AFMC launches surplus supply site Published March 27, 2013 Air Force Materiel Command WRIGHT PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio -- Air Force Materiel Command has launched a "Unit-Purchased Supplies Efficiency" site to help the command manage surplus supplies and equipment. All AFMC employees have access to the site -- an Enterprise Information Management / SharePoint site -- and they can post a listing of any excess supplies they have in their units. Similarly, employees can check for available supplies or equipment, sorted by location, to "shop" for what they need. The idea is to create savings by repurposing supplies. "The site allows quick access to view items that are available -- at no cost," said Eddie Robinson, a change management specialist in the program integration and business operations branch. "This is an AFMC consolidated site, so people can sort and view items by base. It allows for easy redistribution of supplies, which will help since so many offices don't have much funding for supplies or equipment." Eglin's portion of the site is up and running. Master Sgts. Antone Scott and Cynthia Stuart are the base points of contact for the program. The program is strictly an internal project that is managed locally. "Basically it is like "Craig's List" for surplus government supplies at your local base," said Scott. "If you need supplies, check the site before you exercise your government purchase card to see if supplies are available for free. The supplies or equipment must be at your base to acquire them."
