FBI hosts blast investigation training at Eglin

The front half of a pick-up truck was all that remained after 150 pounds of explosives were detonated inside it Sept. 27 on Eglin Air Force Base's range. The detonation created a crime scene for the FBI's large vehicle post blast school. State and county law enforcement, along with Navy and Air Force explosive ordnance disposal technicians, learned the proper procedures to investigate and maintain a large scale vehicle explosion. Feel better pup

A puppy with a broken paw looks around the Eglin Air Force Base Pet Show May 21. The pet show was dominated by canines this year with dogs of all sizes populating the sidewalks in front of the Enlisted Hall. Pet Welfare had animals available for adoption and vendors had pet clothes and scarves available for sale. 96th Security Forces Squadron military working dogs were also on hand. A simulated victim grimaces in pain as Army medics evaluate his injuries during a downed aircraft exercise on the Eglin range, Oct. 20. The 6th Ranger Training Battalion, Team Eglin’s emergency responders and local medical facilities participated in the exercise that simulated a helicopter crash with 12 Soldiers injured deep within the Eglin range. The victims were either evacuated by helicopter or by ambulance to area hospitals.
