Ben Richardson, of the 6th Ranger Training Battalion, talk over their plan of action to help the victims of a simulated helicopter crash during an exercise on the Eglin range, Oct. 20. The 6 RTB, Team Eglin’s emergency responders and local medical facilities participated in the exercise that simulated a helicopter crash with 12 Soldiers injured deep within the Eglin range. Packing a Christmas care package

Capt. Corrine Stewart, of the 96th Medical Group, loads donated health and comfort items into to a Christmas care package, at the troop care drive, at the Eglin Elementary School gym Dec. 5. The Company Grade Officers’ Council collected more than 6,000 items and more than 1,000 handwritten Christmas cards from 12 Okaloosa County schools, area agencies and base squadrons for the packages. Volunteers, spouses and families of Eglin’s deployed troops assisted in putting together 183 care packages for shipment overseas. The total shipment weighed 926 lbs. Pet Welfare 30th Anniversary Open House

Sparky, the fire dog, holds one of the adoptable dogs during the Pet Welfare 30th Anniversary Open House Oct. 27th. Members of the 96th Test Wing Fire Department came out with Sparky to tour the shelter and talk to visitors. The event highlighted the mission of Pet Welfare, a no-kill, all-volunteer shelter.
