Chief Master Sgt. Chris Wilbur, of the 33rd Maintenance Group, pulls a 120-pound dummy across the finish line to complete the Chiefs versus Eagles Fire Prevention Week Challenge Oct. 9 at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla. Colonels and chief master sergeants raced through a series of firefighting physical activities to see who could finish first. The challenges included hose dragging, ladder climbing, victim carry and more. Four colonels and seven chiefs competed and their scores were averaged to determine the winner. Plan of action

Sgt. 1st Class Brian Thomas and Spc. Ben Richardson, of the 6th Ranger Training Battalion, talk over their plan of action to help the victims of a simulated helicopter crash during an exercise on the Eglin range, Oct. 20. The 6 RTB, Team Eglin’s emergency responders and local medical facilities participated in the exercise that simulated a downed aircraft with 12 Soldiers injured deep within the Eglin range. The victims were either evacuated by helicopter or by ambulance to area hospitals.
