Master Sgt. Mike Hager, 33rd Maintenance Squadron, strains to pull the hose back to the line during the First Sergeants vs commanders’ challenge Oct. 7 at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla. The challenge represented the physical training course new Airmen must accomplish to become Air Force firefighters. The course included hose carrying, dragging and pulling, victim carry and climbing 10 steps up a ladder five times and more. Sergeant Hager was the first on the course and had the best time among the shirts with four minutes 23 seconds. A victim waits for help after a simulated helicopter crash during an exercise on the Eglin range, Oct. 20. The 6th Ranger Training Battalion, Team Eglin’s emergency responders and local medical facilities participated in the exercise that simulated a helicopter crash with 12 Soldiers injured deep within the Eglin range. The victims were either evacuated by helicopter or by ambulance to area hospitals. EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla - A C-17 III Globemaster demostrates it's superior take off abilities. The Globemaster performed a max climb, catching the attention of the crowd. More than 125,000 were in attendance for the show April 10-11, enjoying a variety of aerial performances and static displays.
