9/11 firefighters tower climb
Michael Clayton, the assistant fire chief, pins a ribbon with a name of one of the 343 firefighters killed Sept. 11, 2001 before ascending to the top of the 11-story air traffic control tower Sept. 11 at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla. When each name was delivered to the top of the tower it was read aloud. The event ended on top of the tower with participants hanging the ribbons over the balcony on either side of an American Flag.
