MDG Bronze Star

Col. Carole Farley of the 96th Medical Group, was awarded the Bronze Star March 12 at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla. She was honored for meritorious service as the commander while deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom with the 455th Expeditionary Medical Operations Squadron in Afghanistan. According to the medal write-up, as the Craig Joint Theater Hospital's 455th EMOS commander, Farley's outstanding performance, expertise and dedication to duty greatly contributed to the overall success of the unit's mission. Her leadership enabled 20,000 outpatient visits, treatment of 1,200 traumas, 1,400 major surgeries and 1,700 intensive care and inpatient admissions supporting injured combatants.
