Athletic area upgrades

Members of the 96th Force Support Squadron survey the area where a new multi-purpose field will go along with tennis and basketball courts as part of a large on-going athletic area renovation at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla. This is one of many renovations taking place surrounding the track and field house behind the East Gate shopette. All of the ball fields will be upgraded with new dugouts and fencing. One of them will be converted to a multi-purpose field. The concrete PT pads will be coated in rubber urethane. Also, a covered pavilion area will be constructed between Foster Stadium and the soccer field. These projects are to support the increased PT activity in the area, according to the 96th Force Support Squadron. The expected completion date is late 2013. (U.S. Air Force photo/Samuel King Jr.)
