Bronze Star winner
Maj. Michael Gette, a 58th Fighter Squadron pilot, received the Bronze Star Medal, July 23 for actions during his deployment. Gette was directly responsible for helping the initial fielding of the BLU-129, a very low collateral damage weapon developed at Eglin’s Air Armament Center, which decreased the risk to ground forces by 50 percent.
