Medals are delicately placed on a table prior to their presentation to 89-year-old Charles “Buster” Donnell at the Air Force Enlisted Village, Oct 20. He received the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, Korean Service Medal, American Defense Medal and National Defense Service Medal. Mr. Donnell served in the Army in World War II, but later joined the Air Force. He retired from active duty in 1962. (U.S. Air Force photo/Samuel King Jr.)
