Ryan Schweitzer, works through a technique during Kuk Sool Won class at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla. Schweitzer, son of Master Sgt. Kevin Schweitzer, 1st Special Operations Maintenance Squadron, earned his black belt in June. The 12-year-old has been training for four years. Kuk Sool Won encompasses many different "styles" of traditional martial arts. It combines kicking, punching, throwing, falling, and joint-locking as well as a myriad of weapons techniques into a dynamic 'hard-soft' style, emphasizing speed and fluidity.
