Airmen honored with Bronze Star
Five Airmen from the 96th Air Base Wing were recognized for their distinguished service in Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom with presentations of the Bronze Star Medal at Eglin Dec. 7. The period of eligibility for the award of the Bronze Star Medal began Dec. 7, 1941. A BSM is awarded to men and women who, while in the capacity of military service, distinguish themselves by heroic or meritorious achievement or service. The honor was even more significant as the medals were presented on Pearl Harbor Day. A sixth Airman was awarded the medal but was unavailable the ceremony. (Air Force photo/Staff Sgt. Stacia Zachary.)
