McKinley Climatic Laboratory

EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- The C-5M Super Galaxy undergoes extreme heat and ultraviolet exposure during the Re-engining and Reliability Program at the McKinley Climactic Laboratory here Oct. 21 through Nov. 17. In order to stabilize the aircraft during engine testing, steel mounts were specially designed by Dwayne Bell, McKinley Climatic Laboratory test engineer, and welded together. Engineers had to work with Lockheed Martin to find out the best way to attach the steel mounts to the aircraft. (Photo by Bruce Hoffman)
