F-22 explosive test
A fiery fragment flies through the air as the 780th Test Squadron detonates an AIM-120 warhead to determine the necessary parking distance for F-22s in the event of an explosion. To accomplish the test, the squadron placed other live AIM-120 and AIM-9s on nearby stands to determine if they would withstand an explosion. The testers concluded no chain reaction would take place and F-22s parking distance could be reduced. (Courtesy photo)
