Earth Day event inspires next generation
EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- Melaina Bryant, a kindergarten student at Cherokee Elementary School, learns a new technique of molding clay, much like the way many indigenous tribes of this area did 5,000 years ago. Earth Day was hosted at the elementary school April 20, in hopes to educate children of the importance of protecting the environment, exposing them to natural ecosystems of Northwest Florida and allowing them the hands-on experience with animals they would otherwise never touch or see.
