Digging a ditch
EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- Col. Bruce McClintock, 96th Air Base Wing commander, gets hands-on instruction from Staff Sgt. Chris Wise, 96th Communication Squadron cable and antenna systems, on an excavator used to dig trenches. Sergeant Wise and the "Cable Dawgs" use the excavator to bury communications cable on Eglin. Airmen in the communications squadron install, maintain and repair cable and antenna services for all users across Eglin's 724 square miles. Colonel McClintock and Chief Master Sgt. Troy Engholm, 96th ABW command chief master sergeant, take a weekly walkabout visit to the units on base to applaud their successes and determine their needs for mission accomplishment.
