Bird's eye view
VALPARAISO, Fla. – Turkey vultures roost atop a cell phone tower in Valparaiso. The Bird and Wildlife Aircraft Strike Hazard program identified the vultures as a threat to aircraft taking off and landing at Eglin and the Northwest Florida Regional airport. The U.S. Department of Agriculture Wildlife Services and 96th Civil Engineer Group Environmental Management Natural Resources Branch, known as Jackson Guard, hung an effigy hung upside down to scare away the nearly 100 vultures that were roosting there.
