Longleaf Alliance experiences Eglin's natural beauty

EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- Roger Kennedy, Eglin fire management specialist, showcases the Premo MK III Aerial Ignition Device System that Eglin fire managers use to ignite prescribed burns from a helicopter to members of the Longleaf Alliance Conference Oct. 30. The Longleaf Alliance, established in 1995, is partnership between private landowners, forest industries, state and federal agencies, conservation groups, researchers, and other enthusiasts interested in managing and restoring longleaf pine forests for their ecological and economic benefits. The Alliance held their regional conference in Sandestin and toured the Eglin reservation to learn how Eglin natural resource managers maintain the installation's longleaf ecosystem./U.S. Air Force photo by Jerron Barnett
