2014 Khobar Towers memorial ceremony
Flowers are placed at the 33rd Fighter Wing's Nomad Memorial on the 18th anniversary of the tragic Khobar Towers bombing in Saudi Arabia June 25. The memorial wall and flaming sword were constructed in 1997 to honor the 12 Nomads killed. Nineteen U.S. servicemembers gave the ultimate sacrifice and 400 casualties were reported. Annually, the 33rd FW hosts a ceremony to remember their sacrifice.(U.S. Air Force photo/Ilka Cole)
