Boots on the Ground

Senior Airman Cameron Gnile, Airmen 1st Class Sia Pocholo, Timothy Burd and Tech. Sgt. Ana Silva, of the 96th Logistics Readiness Squadron, gather up more than 375 donated military boots for the “Boots on the Ground” traveling memorial June 4 at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla. Silva led others from seven units throughout the base to get the word out and collect the boots for the cause. After collecting, counting and boxing up the boots, Silva delivered them to the drop-off point at Fort Benning, Ga., June 7. The boots will be placed in long lines with an American Flag and a picture of a first responder/service member who died after 9/11. (U.S. Air Force photo/Samuel King Jr.)
