Eglin hosts Archaeology Day
Raymon Melvin, a local turpentine industry expert, explains the history of the turpentine industry at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla., to attendees during the 3rd Annual Eglin Archaeology Day held at Jackson Guard March 22. Melvin's display was one of several activities and booths available at the event hosted by Eglin Cultural Resources to celebrate Florida's Archaeology Month. More than 120 people participated in Archaeology Day to learn more about Eglin's heritage, cultural resources and the importance of stewardship. (Courtesy photo)
