Portraits in Courage
Second Lt. Alison Nordlander fills in a chart as a labor and delivery nurse for the 96th Medical Group at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla. Nordlander was recently honored in this year’s Air Force Portraits in Courage series which highlights the extraordinary acts of Airmen who put their lives on the line to save others during dangerous situations. On April 17, 2013, Nordlander along with two fellow cadets disregarded their personal safety to provide life-saving medical care during an explosion in West, Texas, that claimed 15 lives and injured hundreds.
