Wired for Sound
An Army UH-60 Blackhawk approaches Northrop Grumman personnel who are recording the various sounds emitted by the helicopter during Acoustic Week Aug. 6 at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla. The Blackhawk passed over the sound equipment at different speeds and altitudes to provide unique acoustic variations to be recorded. The event is a three-week project hosted by the 46th Test Squadron and Project Chicken Little. It is a cost-shared opportunity between the government and customers to collect specific and general sound data from ground and aerial vehicles. The event began July 29 and ends Aug. 15.
