Greeting an old friend
On Jan. 23 1966, then-Capt. Stan Lockley receives a hand shake after completing 100 combat missions over North Vietnam. The retired colonel visited the Air Force Armament Museum Aug. 26 to see his old friend, the F-105 Thunderchief, located inside the museum. The 86-year-old Lockley is a former vice commander of both the 33rd (Tactical) Fighter Wing and the 96th Test Wing and was one of the first Air Force pilots to complete 100 combat missions over North Vietnam.
