Ashes to Dust 5K
Participants greet and shake hands at the start line of the Ashes to Dust 5K Feb. 18 near the Civil Engineering Pavilion on Eglin Air Force Base, Fla. Approximately 225 people attended the event on Ash Wednesday, a day that marks the beginning of the Lent season for Christians. Eglin’s Chapel held the event to start the season with spiritual and physical inspiration and also the option to receive a cross of ashes for those who wanted to demonstrate their faith.
