Air Force Seek Eagle Mass Properties
Michael Bellino, an ordnance equipment specialist with the Air Force’s Seek Eagle Mass Properties Shop, presses a levelling instrument against a 10-foot roll fixture securing a Joint Air-To-Surface Standoff Missile at the Mass Properties Measurement Facility on Eglin Air Force Base, Fla., March 24. Equipment specialists level the JASSM to ensure the exact level in the missile’s horizontal orientation. The measurements gathered are used by Seek Eagle engineers and customers to determine flight capabilities, weapon predictions, and as a production quality check. AFSEO’s equipment specialists provide mass property measurements of up to 8,000 pounds through the use of mobile measurement machines in support of worldwide deployments.
